Vary rare now, known only from the
Manawatu area. It has a creeping rhizome and stems with attractive large dark green fronds and black stems. Needs deep soil. 
 
Collectors fern.
 
Does well in a large pot if kept moist but not wet, in semi-shade (avoid mid-day to afternoon sun).
