Adiantum hispidulum - Rosy Maidenhair

Adiantum hispidulum - Rosy Maidenhair

Delightful forked fronds turn pink in sun. Best on borders so they get some sun to encourage the pink colour of the new fronds. Have short creeping or erect rhizomes and so they form clumps that can act as a space filler. Good pot plant. North Cape to Raglan and Bay of Plenty, fewer on coast to Levin.

  • Notes

Adiantum hispidulum is especially effective under trees and shrubs and in shaded woodland areas. The fern also looks good in containers on a shaded patio.
