Parablechnum montanum - mountain kiokio (was Blechnum montanum)
Similar to Parablechnum NZ with smaller harsher upright fronds. Pink in the sun when new. Replaces P. NZ at higher altitudes. Wet damp cooler areas in shade or in open. Good as a border fern in moister areas.

At Oratia where we had a large property, Parablechnum novae-zelandii, made an ideal statement border plant with the spectacular new large pink fronds in spring/summer. With our smaller property at Waipu, P. montanum fulfills the same sort of role on a much smaller scale.
